In Windows 10 there are Several third-party software to help protect your data from Ransomware attacks. Many users use third-party anti-virus protection, like avast, Malwarebytes etc.

Turn on Controlled Folder Access in Windows 10

Step 1: Open Settings > Update and Security > Windows security(Windows Defender)

Step 2: Open windows defender control center button.

Step 3: Virus and threat protection > Virus and threat protection settings

Step 4: Click manage controlled folder access link in the controlled folder access.

Step 5: Click the controlled folder access folder switch to ON status to turn on ransomware protection.

Step 6: Click Protected folders > add a protected folder (add some folders)

Step 7: Finally, click Allow an app through the folder access link to add the apps you allow to make changes to files in these saved folders.
