Smart phone is an inevitable part pf every one. The life of human beings are getting simplified by the usage of smart phones for their day to day needs. Even though the usage of smart phones is very beneficial, the improper usage or not knowing the vulnerabilities behind it can lead to serious security problems and loss of personal data.
Recently a flash light application from the google play store was found to sell the valuable user data to advertising agency for money. So we have to be aware of the applications that we install it in our smart phones.
Android App permissions- Do it right
The older versions of android did not support giving separate permissions for individual applications. From Android 6.0 Marshmallow setting permissions for each app is possible. This is definitely a very good security feature.
To avoid the above discussed security issues we have to follow certain steps.
Try to install applications only from the google play store. Third party application stores and websites that provide applications cannot be trusted completely, because they donot have any effective security check measures.
Do not give unwanted permissions for applications. For example games which demands permission for contacts should not be encouraged. Be wise while giving permissions for applications.
