Recently, Huawei's consumer business team leader Richard Yu told the "Wall Street Journal" interview, said, Huawei has decided to suspend the release of any new WP phone , because this part of the business was not profitable for them, and then continue to struggle WP also hard to be successful. He also said that Huawei will mainly enter the Android Market.
To date, Huawei has just launched several low-end WP phones, and based on this half-hearted attitude towards the development, I believe that there will not be any OEM manufacturers will rely on any one OS to succeed, not to mention the only from WP focus. The following is part of our intercepted Richard Yu revealed in an interview:
Q: For most mobile phone manufacturers, Android is the only option. Do you think it would be a problem?
Yu: hard to say. We have tried WP system, but it is difficult to convince users to buy the equipment, we do not make money, we have a loss in the WP business for two years. So we have now decided to shelve the release of all WP handsets. We have to worry too dependent on Android platform, but we have no choice, we and Google co harmonious.
Q: Have you ever considered using Tizen, this being developed by Samsung and Intel and other companies supported operating systems?
Yu: We do not plan to use Tizen. Some operators suggested that we launch Tizen-based smart phones, but we refused. We had had a team developing Tizen system, but we canceled because we feel that Tizen is difficult to succeed. Similarly, even if WP is also difficult to succeed. We have no plans to self-developed system, because the design of a new system is actually very simple, but the problem is how to build it around an ecosystem, it is difficult.
