The researchers from the University of Toledo states that long periods of time exposed to the blue light, which is emitting from the phones, tablets, and televisions, can damage vision and generate poisonous molecules in the eye’s light-sensitive cells.

While in the research the researchers exposed living cells to various types of lights. They found that exposure to the blue light starts triggers “reactions that generate poisonous chemical molecules in photoreceptor cells, The blue light also introduced to other cell types in the body, such as cancer cells, heart cells, and neurons they died as a result.

Eye disease such as macular degeneration is caused by the deterioration of light-sensitive cells in the retina. peoples should wear sunglasses that can filter both UV and blue light outside.

For Apple smartphones, The Blue light filter is in a setting called ‘Night Shift’

In iOS 11 it can be accessed via

Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift
